In brief

Your first fragrance can start with a familiar smell or a moment in your everyday life. Narrow your choices on separate blotters, then try a favourite on skin according to the product instructions and notice how it develops. Beyond the name or first impression, ask yourself whether you would enjoy wearing it regularly.

Start with scents you already enjoy

You do not need to memorise every fragrance family. Think about the freshness of citrus peel, the atmosphere of a flower shop, or the quiet warmth of wood and soft fabrics. Describe those preferences in your own words. They are useful clues.

Floral, woody and fresh are browsing directions rather than separate boxes. A fragrance can combine fruity notes, flowers and a woody finish. Its note list suggests a direction, but smelling the whole composition remains part of choosing it.

Picture it in your everyday life

Consider when you are most likely to wear it. A morning commute, a shared office, a weekend walk or an evening out. Instead of assigning a compulsory fragrance family to each setting, think about the feeling you want and how close other people will be.

In shared spaces or close company, start with a small amount and notice how it feels to you and those around you. Rich or light is a personal preference. Application and surroundings matter too.

Use blotters to narrow the choice

Label a separate blotter with each fragrance code. Avoid spraying different scents onto the same strip. Comparing two or three at first can make the task easier; it is a practical suggestion rather than a fixed limit.

Write down a few impressions, such as sweet, fresh, soft or dry. If everything starts to smell similar, take a break away from strong scents and return later. You do not need to explore the whole collection in one visit.

Leave room for the scent to develop

Once a candidate interests you, follow the product instructions and try a small amount on a suitable area of skin. Keep different candidates apart and avoid judging solely by the instant after spraying.

Smell it again later and revisit it as you go about your day. Top, heart and base notes describe a fragrance unfolding; they are not a timetable that is identical for everyone. Application, surroundings and skin condition can affect the experience.

Enjoying the quieter scent that remains, and wanting to wear it in your own life, can be more useful than choosing a popular name.

Choose a size around your habits

A smaller bottle may suit you while you are exploring your preferences or rotating several scents. A larger format may make sense once you know you enjoy a fragrance and use it often. Size affects portability and your routine rather than how well the scent suits you.

VÉRÉ currently presents individual bottles in 30 ml, 50 ml and 100 ml. Each product page shows the corresponding formats and published retail prices. Gift sets are currently presented for promotional purposes; contact the brand team about combinations.

Return with a few simple questions

Do I enjoy the opening or the scent it becomes later? Does it fit the situations I am in most often? Would I want to wear it again on another day?

Your first bottle does not have to represent every moment. It only needs to be a beginning you want to bring into everyday life. Note the codes that interest you and discuss your preferences with the brand team or a partner store.

To explore different VÉRÉ fragrance profiles, compare jasmine and tuberose WOMEN10, coffee and orange blossom WOMEN02 and mango and sandalwood WOMEN11. Notes offer a starting point; trying a perfume on your skin helps you decide which scent feels right for you.
